marriage

marriage is something you really have to work on sometimes....almost like a job. some days both people go to work, come home and have dinner, and it was an easy day. but other days from the moment you wake up, it's just not much fun. one person might be in the other person's way in the bathroom, one might do something they know good and well gets on the other one's nerves, one may expect too much from the other one. and those days are probably more common than the easy ones. but i guess things always work out if both of the people really want it to. they will evenutally say they're sorry even though they will probably do it again tomorrow.

p is for poot

ok so i can't post a picture, but eli is getting a reputation around this house as a little pooter! he is so loud sometimes! that is the fartinest baby i've ever seen!

baby bath

as promised, here's eli in the bathtub. this was his first bath, but he had a second one later on that same night, (since lately he feels the need to pee on his own face!) he peed in the bathtub too. the hardest part was getting him out since he was so slippery. i have a huge fear of dropping him on the floor now and i probably will need help from daddy every time i give him a bath for a while....

it fell off

eli's yucky little umbilical cord fell off today. actually it was hanging by a string when we woke up this morning so i just snipped it off with the fingernail clippers.....shame on me i guess but it was so gross i wanted to just get rid of it! i was really happy about giving him his first bath. i have pictures of that too...i will post one next time.

no sleep

it's really hard to sleep when you have a newborn who NEVER sleeps. at least not at night. he can take 5 hour naps in the daytime when i'm washing clothes and dishes but it never fails....at night when i want to go to bed he wants to stay awake. when i looked at this picture of him i wonder why he can't do that when i want him to....

a happy little family

Monday and yesterday we had our first family outings. Monday morning we went to the pediatrician, to eat lunch at Backyard Burgers, and then to my appointment with my thyroid doctor, to CVS to print baby pictures, and finally back home for the night. Yesterday we went to Target for the movie 300, CVS for baby wipes, the bank, Stuller, Casa Ole for dinner, and then back home. I guess we looked like a happy little family. The waitress at Casa Ole was definitely on drugs, she kept laughing and dropping napkins all over the floor, but she did say the baby was very cute. It felt like everywhere we went all the other people around us were looking at us and smiling. The only one missing was Anniston. But we will get her this weekend and maybe we can take a family photo. I can't wait to see her hold her baby brother!
